Working with Janos was such a wonderful experience that our collaboration felt less like work and more so play. I was fortunate enough to work with him at Apple as a Display Reliability Engineer when we both were engaged in the development of the novel backlight display with 10,000 mini-LEDs in the M1 iPad and 14"/16" M1 Max MacBook XDR display. Since the device was the first of its kind to reach the market, we combined our backgrounds to deliver on highly reliable displays that millions of customers use worldwide. While the results speak for themselves in the delight the customers have when using these displays, it was Janos's passion and enthusiasm for always going above and beyond in his analytical approach to not just be best-in-class but providing world class engineering. I would absolutely love to work with him again and would highly recommend him to any role!

Janos and I were colleageus at Apple and I saw first hand how he can digest complex and urgent needs and follow up with elegant, yet practical solutions in optics and displays. His ideas and solutions have touched many products in millions of people's hands and he has made the user experience measurably better for it. I'd highly recommend him and would love to work with him again!

During my time at this company, I lead, support, and guide a HW team of 10 people on projector development. Design CAD in Creo, illumination light engine in Light Tools, and lens in Zemax, and contribute to expediting the projector innovation roadmap by one year. I mentor intern for image quality (IQ) who developed an automated tester in Python in three months received an offer from Amazon. I prepare and direct weekly project report updates for the director. I manage vendor relationships, problem recovery, failure analysis, and vendor switching while keeping product schedule. My main contributions within this job role are as follow: •Drove projector mass-production IQ supply chain method, resulting in a 2% improvement in yield. •Led a ten-person hardware team working on the next generation of projectors, resulting in a 10% cost reduction and a twofold increase in resolution over the previous generation. •Doubled resolution of projectors generation-to-generation while leading 10-member hardware team. •Maintained product completion timeline by managing vendor interactions and switching LCOS vendors.

Within this job role, I characterized, prototyped, and modeled using Unity in C sharp and Ardunio in C using Light Tools. I patented display optical modules “2D backlight” integrated into iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Homepod products. I developed and implemented HPC virtual prototyping systems with Ansys SPEOS. I designed and delivered the proprietary matte finish XDR Pro display, iPad, LED QC CV MacBook Pro, QC CV Studio Display, AirPods Pro LED with three times the brightness, and HomePod mini. Below listed are my contributions in this job role: •Drove cost down by three times through effective HomePod vendor management. •Optimized yield by +3% and reduced cost-down by +$500K by establishing QC in MATLAB and Python process. •Minimized prototyping phase of HPC virtual solutions from six to three months for Siri HomePod user experience.

2012 - 2017
As an Applied Data Scientist, I superintended students in thesis regarding ML, depth sensing in C, and C++. I enabled three master students to acquire PhD degrees in biomechanics and mechatronics. I supervised two researchers in infrared spectral imaging and ML leading to six publications and tenure teaching positions. I managed four master students during their thesis and all graduated, three continued in a Ph.D. program. My contributions in this job role are: •Published 16 papers and enhanced real-time ML inspection in LabVIEW and MATLAB with optical sensor systems. •Spearheaded projects to demonstrate new ML spectral sensor applications, such as remote sensing and food quality control in collaboration with IMEC research institute and AGRO-food industries. •Designed and prototyped an infrared illumination system for spectral imaging using FRED, Light Tools.

Within a research stay abroad under the supervision of Prof. John Koshel, thanks to a JUMO KULeuven scholarship, I investigate illumination designs to maximize uniformity and reduce glare artifacts appearing in hyperspectral images of food products of arbitrary shape. This research is performed as a part of my Ph.D. program at KULeuven. As an Electrical Engineer in Holografika, I created computer vision (CV) algorithms in C++ with 30x speed-up. I leveraged MATLAB Simulink and VHDL to test and document FPGA accelerated real-time color correction video streaming. I also have some contributions in this job role as follow: •Integrated FOS user-experience improvement of AR content for 3D light-field displays. •Piloted end-to-end functions involved in development of CV 3D depth sensing algorithms in C++ for interactive AR.
