Janneke is the most hardworking and efficient colleague I’ve ever worked with; incredibly, she always finds time to have good fun too. For well over two years we’ve worked together in Rotterdam first at the Gergiev Festival and then at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, where she was indispensable as Manager of Artistic Affairs. As Artistic Programmer I was always in close touch with her. Thanks to her unsurpassed capability to guard the budgets, handle tough but fair negotiations, and streamline complex organizational structures, she created a lot of room for the artistic growth of the orchestra. She is both hands on and a strategic thinker, never panicking in moments of crisis and always thinking two steps ahead.
