Public Events Coordinator
-
Jan 2018 - Aug 2020
I managed all public and private events that occur within the library. This consisted of coordinating scheduling, overseeing room set up, and keeping track of the financial side to keep things running smoothly. As a part of the Public Relations team, I assisted in creating a bimonthly newsletter for the library, as well as writing and sending out weekly press release to local and statewide media outlets to alert the community of what is occurring within the library. I also co-managed the library's social media platforms. Our social media has gained local news attention in my time managing it and has statistically proven to gain more and more attention over the last year, bringing larger numbers into the facility. This includes creating social media campaigns that highlights the events, outreach, and overall mission statement of the library. Other duties included writing and overseeing public policy, managing marketing materials, and assisting in fundraising and outreach with the rest of the Financial Services team. Show less

Research Assistant Extern
-
Jan 2017 - Aug 2017
The main focus of the externship was to assist in the NAVTA Veterinary Nurse Initiative by examining veterinary practice laws in each state with particular focus on statutes and legislation, political landscape, and researching nurses on the DMS Independent Nurse Practitioner map. Working closely under the mentorship and direction of Mark Cushing, I honed my research and legislative writing skills while learning about the process of the veterinary heath world, including animal welfare issues and the legislation that backs it. I also performed extensive research on the human animal bond and the social capital of pets by examining housing policies affecting pet ownership across the United States. Show less
