I am not a musician and couldn't begin to comment on technical aspects of the music Janine produces... but as a jazz lover I just have to say that listening and watching her play I can feel the pure joy and passion of jazz seeping out, rushing out. Grabs me and pulls me into her world. Some jazz seems technically scripted to wow-- her music seems to me very organic and fluid. Like she just woke up and started playing homage to the sun rising over the mountains. Her CD, Soft As Granite, is an incredibly aptly named title. It's soft, but solid as a rock. No mush here... soft and fluid, but directed. I put it on when I home alone, cloudy day, gotta clean house or make dinner. Puts a bounce in my work. Thanks Janine... keep creating. You're beautiful.
