I took this job really to help the church out at the request of the director of the Kids Kare department. It was not a job I had ever really wanted to do on a permanent basis. It was certainly not taken for the salary. I did, however, truly enjoyed working with and helping teach young children. One can learn something new at every job. Young minds are like sponges. Worked as a contract consultant in the Inventory and Purchasing departments. In both areas the work entailed managing inventory and making purchases of new parts for special projects or modifications that were being made to the aircraft. One example is the "repitching" of the aircraft seats to make more or less room between the rows of seats. This work included dealing with aircraft on the ground (AOG's), or meeting maintenance schedules, working with the mechanics that would be making the installation at the local hangars or in the field in the U. S. or foreign airports, acting as liason between the suppliers, buyers, inventory analysts, quality assurance, engineering and maintenance personnel to resolve any issues of quality, price and lead times. It also meant resolving all receiving and invoicing issues to ensure prompt payment. It also involved moving inventory out of the main warehouse to any location in the world, as needed. Show less
