Janice Lathen is an outstanding leader. She inspires everyone with whom she works and many people she meets by chance. She is knowledgeable about technology and a good organizer, but so are many other people. What Janice brings that is extraordinary are her stubborn faith that if a project is worthwhile there must be a way to fund it and bring it to fruition, and her special way of relating to people. She cares and listens and connects people and the result is that she accomplishes things in rural Tanzania which even the local experts initially weren't sure were feasible. In a long career in technology management, I haven't met anyone as skilled as Janice at bringing projects to completion.

I had the chance to work closely with Janice as an advisory board member during some of the early years of Powering Potential. Janice is a passionate, hard working, and dedicated leader. She crafted a compelling vision for Powering Potential and then rallied a large community of funders, donors, partners, supporters and constituents to scale the organization to serve thousands of young people across multiple countries.
