Janice reported directly or indirectly to me for many years while at Emerson. Janice is one of those bedrock people you need in any software development group. She has the experience and know-how to tackle just about any software assignment given to her. We often assigned her tasks that were among the most important and/or difficult. In every assignment, she applied herself diligently with focus and dedication. While she never held a formal supervisory role, she was definitely considered a technical leader -- someone who positively influenced those around her and often fulfilled the role of technical advisor to her supervisors and me. When she first interviewed at Emerson, I passed on her due to an average interview. I quickly regretted that choice as she was snatched up by another group and proved to be a great hire. As soon as possible, I brought her onto my team, and I was always thankful that I did. She truly was (and is) a diamond in the rough. As a hiring manager, don't make the same mistake I made. You will not regret giving Janice a chance.

At Architectural Graphics, Inc. (AGI) I worked in the IT department creating custom web applications that deliver financial and project information to senior management and project managers. My primary role involved writing web services in .NET 5.0 and ASP.Net WebApi calling SQL Server stored procedures using an in-house ORM layer. At Architectural Graphics, Inc. I worked at Emerson for many years and had the opportunity to learn many new skills and technologies which is something I enjoy and am passionate about. The projects that I worked on while at Emerson involved writing web services with ASP.Net WebAPI MVC, using Entity Framework to store and retrieve data from a SQL Server database, using NServiceBus for reliable Pub/Sub messaging between web services, and SignalR for broadcast messages to user interfaces. At Oak Ridge National Laboratory I developed software applications that performed data transformation between various risk modelling applications. I also developed a waste tracking system to track DOE waste through various treatment processes. In addition to my software development tasks I worked on the Waste Management Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (WM PEIS). For this project I gathered data from various DOE sites and developed a methodology to calculate risk to workers performing waste management activities at DOE sites. Show less
