I lead the psychological testing department and the Child & Adolescent outreach program in Northwest Detroit. I work with families to provide education on psychiatric illnesses that impact children and adolescents, coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, provide family and individual therapy, ensure medical needs are met, and develop treatment plans with families. Psychological testing is another area of expertise that I utilize at Development Centers. I lead the testing department and complete psychological testing for children, adolescents & adults. I make recommendations for our clients to be tested due to cognitive, social & emotional and mental health concerns. We ensure that the clients we are providing services to are in the right network, and switch them to the correct network as appropriate.I work closely with Wayne County to provide services that support all outreach staff in the entire county. I am currently developing a series of on-line trainings for all outreach staff in Wayne County. They will be published on VCE with an anticipated start date of mid 2014. I was responsible for monitoring the quality of care for adults, adolescents and children's inpatient, crisis residential and day treatment programs across Wayne County. I worked within a multidisciplinary team of professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for all consumers during their psychiatric admission to a higher level of care. An important component to the quality of care delivered to the consumers of Wayne County was the coordination of care between CareLink and their 8 primary providers. Clear communication and strong relationships were at the center of services provided to all families during an inpatient stay. I developed monitoring tools to track trends in hospitalizations, completed monthly statistical reports for Wayne County and was pivotal in the Children's Task Force which monitored high risk children and adolescents. Attending Wayne County meetings provided me the opportunity to participate in many task force groups that lead to County wide advancements in the care of children & adolescents. Show less
