      I am presently a Pearson Silver Award winner (2022) for Special Educational Needs and Head of Learning Support, with direct responsibility for 160 learners, 127 of those that have Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP’s). My role is multi-dimensional, fast paced with the need to not only manage EHCP’s, the SEN register and funding of alternative provisions but also to ensure the curriculum is accessible to all, whilst fostering independence with a differentiated approach. I am responsible for ensuring that we are consistently delivering high-quality lessons for all, and providing support to staff to maintain first class opportunities to challenge and stimulate our pupils in their learning. Understanding all aspects of the child is vital, this does not just mean their academic progress but also their social and emotional progress. Sharing all areas of progression to parents and carers is also key, working collaboratively together to maintain 360o support for the child is the best way to success.
