I have loved getting to know prospective student doctors over the past six years. Now, I am helping behind the scenes as well to ensure the process of selecting 200 new student doctors every year runs smoothly. I am blessed to share my enthusiasm with our newer advisor as well.

Purchasing & Accounting Food and Nutrition Services
-
May 2005 - Aug 2016
In my current position I am responsible for all accounting activity dealing with invoices, check requests, charge accounts, etc. I search for new items in food or supplies as needed, which is daily. I maintain order guides bases on current pricing and compliant product availability. I communicate with vendors and brokers to establish the best working partnerships for our mutual benefit. I also assist with catering, from the creating of the catering menu and contract to buying/renting the needed items, to actually serving at special events. I recently was given the additional tasks of an administrative assistant. Currently I am also training team members throughout the facility to use our new Catertrax program for catering, floor stock and bulk ordering.

Department Secretary
-
Apr 1987 - May 2005
I have worked at MMC since the summer of 1987. I began as a temp employee, and was hired in December 1987. I started out in the business office where I was responsible for maintaining patient accounts. I also learned billing and financial counseling. From there I was offered a chance to become the unit secretary for a very active Physical Therapy department. I coordinated schedules, patient appointments, transcription of care notes, billing and worked as a PT Tech when needed. After several years I transferred to my first time in Food and Nutrition Services. When my position was being reimagined, I was able to move to Nursing Support Coordinator for our growing Telemetry unit. I have also spent time in Material Management where I spearheaded the transition from one automated supply system to another.

52 C Utility Equipment Repairer
-
Aug 1989 - Aug 1996
Trained as a 52C utility equipment repairer. During my time I worked primarily on the now defunct Chapparel Missile Launchers as part of the 716th Missile Maintenance Unit in Las Cruces. I was the only female in my class, and I graduated with the second highest scores. Once I returned to my home unit, I also assisted with tech supply. Trained as a 52C utility equipment repairer.
