Columbia Falls Junior High is a grade 6 -8 public school located in beautiful Columbia Falls, MT that serves approximately 450 students. CFJH offers a wide variety of programs for students and many professional development opportunities for teachers. As a teacher at CFJH, I taught grade 6 math, science, art, and general education, and grades 6, 7 and 8 English writing and literature in inclusive classrooms. Whittier serves a culturally diverse group of students who collectively speak many different languages. Cal-Wood is a unique outdoor education center located on over 1000 acres and near Jamestown, Colorado. Cal-Wood serves schools primarily from the Boulder and Denver areas with a mission to break down socio-economic and language barriers for students' access to outdoor education. As an instructor at Cal-Wood I taught standards-aligned outdoor science curriculum to grades 1 through 8 students; developed and taught "Sheltered Instruction" lessons to specifically address the needs of English language learners; and facilitated teacher workshops and seminars on incorporating outdoor science curriculum into the classroom. http://www.calwood.org/

The Glacier Institute is a non-profit that runs youth and adult education programs in and about Glacier National Park. There are two main campuses: Big Creek Outdoor Education Center and the West Glacier Field Camp. Each campus offers a unique opportunity for students to experience the beauty and wilderness of Glacier. While working for the Glacier Institute, I taught residential and day outdoor education programs about the Crown of the Continent ecosystem to students ranging from grade 2 through grade 8. In addition, while based at the West Glacier Field Camp, I facilitated adult education programs lead by expert instructors about the natural and anthropological history of Glacier National Park. http://www.glacierinstitute.org/

Yellowstone Ecosystem Studies, now called the Yellowstone Ecological Research Center, was a non profit organization that conducted and facilitated ecological research in and around Yellowstone National Park. As a research technician, I was responsible for the collection of research data on a number of projects surrounding the 1995 wolf reintroduction, and GIS ground truthing for a NASA funded vegetation study.
