Under Springer’s direction, CDA has worked to raise awareness of what constitutes good schooling, to encourage networking and discourse among the national and international dance community and to prompt ballet teachers to work knowledgeably and responsibly in the classroom. Central to this effort have been the BarreRaiser® events, where teachers and others could deepen and broaden their own knowledge. Training intensives in Classical Dance as well as some adjunct courses, including: Historical Dance and Character Dance and Variations were held in New York, NY at the Baryshnikov Arts Center with instruction from leading teaching artists/pedagogues including Oleg Vinogradov, Irina Kolpakova, Vladlen Semenov, Anna Marie Holmes, Vladimir Kolesnikov, Nina Kolesnikova, Irina Guseva and pianists Marina Gendel and Vladimir Shinov. Through observation, discussion, detailed breakdown of individual steps and demonstration, participants began to master the craft of sound pedagogical method. Material is presented in written form via comprehensive syllabus and teacher's manuals along with appropriate music. Since 2016, Springer has taught ballet teacher's courses in classical dance in Lisbon, Portugal in the Vaganova Method consolidated Six Year Program written by Vera S. Kostrovitskaya. These courses have been sponsored by CID UNESCO, the Ana Köhler School of Dance, and EDANSK, Portugal. CDA has produced several companion music CD’s for use by participants in their own classrooms. These include: Musical Compositions for Historical Dance Lessons Volume I and Music for Elementary Character Dance Class available through Classical Dance Alliance, Inc., Marina Gendel, pianist/composer.
