Work directly with the Technical Project Manager (TPM) to provide project management and technical support for the design and production of Naval support assets. Manage day to day tasks with task leads including problem resolution, managing project schedules and costs, providing technical expertise and coordinating with Defense Contractors. Identify hazards, project risks and work with the TPM to track, manage and mitigate hazards and risks. Prepare technical reports including weekly and monthly milestone reports. Shock Test Engineer and Evaluation Lead for Launcher Systems and Payload Integration Division. Design and develop test fixtures, author and execute test plans for high impact shock testing (in accordance with military standards for shock testing) to ensure components meet NAVSEA standards for shock certification. Perform post-test inspections and testing to satisfy test pass/fail criteria. Work directly with Naval Sea Systems Commands to seek approval for test plans and subsequent certification of components upon successful completion of shock testing. Coordinate interdepartmentally with machine shop and laboratory facilities to construct and validate test fixtures. Provide direct oversight for test conduct. Provide technical oversight and support to other engineers who conduct shock testing in support of my division. Structural Analyst for Launcher Systems and Payload Integration Division. Using FEA modeling and simulation techniques, perform transient dynamic and static analyses on components prior to installation on board US Navy vessels to ensure components meet Navy standards for shock certification. Evaluate resulting data for structural deficiencies and make recommendations to design engineers for improvements in the component design or mounting configurations. Work directly with Naval Sea Systems Commands to obtain concurrence on analyses approaches and obtain approvals for certifications based on analytical results. Show less
