Jane Shure has helped me over the past 20 years with both big picture and fine grained advice on leading my professional services firm. Knowing that sometimes the delivery is as important as the message, she has successfully guided me with her advice on understanding the subtle human dynamics at play among my employees. She has helped me lead this office of creatives forward with powerful conversations and ideas. I feel more confident of good outcomes after I speak with her. She helps me cut to the chase by giving me talking points, direction and an understanding of the points of view (incuding mine) in the room.
Valerie Weber MD, MS, FACP
After a remarkably difficult period in our organization, we invited the Resilience Group to organize a half day workshop with our faculty and staff. Drs. Shure and Weinstock were very focused on working with me to tailor the workshop to our groups' needs. The session was run professionally and it was very well received. The participants were able to vocalize and share their concerns and process the events in a way that will promote healing. Many commented that they found the day a turning point in their ability to put the events behind them and refocus on the organizational mission. " Valerie D. Weber, MD Sr Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Drexel University College of Medicine

Boost Resilience: Take Charge of the Inner Critic & Inner Worrier
-
Nov 2016 - Nov 2016
My talk focuses on dispelling the stories we hold to be “truths” but are, in fact, myths created by our emotional brain. Many of us hold fear and insecurity based on ideas drawn by our Inner Worrier & our Inner Critic. These internal voices get us to believe that people think badly of us and inhibit expressions of our authentic self. Using new findings in neuroscience, along with clinical experiences, my talk will focus on re-examining our fear-based stories so as to not get emotionally hijacked by their undermining messages. Countering our automatic belief is key to shifting fear into curiosity, while boosting courage and sustaining resilience. Show less

2005 - 2013
As a founding board member, I co-developed the Professional Advisory Council of A Chance to Heal and co-led it until the foundation ceased day-to-day operations. The Professional Advisory Council represented a broad spectrum of thought leaders in a variety of professional fields whose work informed or was directly associated with those working with prevention efforts for the population at risk for developing eating disorders. All of the great work accomplished by a host of dedicated people continues on at the Harvard School of Public Health through a special Chance to Heal endowed graduate fellow program. Show less
