Jane was my direct manager for just under four years in the Research Communications and Outreach team at Swinburne. I will always have very fond memories of this time as Jane is a fantastic leader to work with. Positivity, motivation, intellect, and kindness are just a few of the words that come to mind. Jane’s ability to be across all aspects of the strategic and operational sides of the team, meant we always had the best guidance and direction day in, day out. The broad nature of our team meant we were constantly producing a diverse range of outcomes, including managing large projects, website redevelopments, print and online advertising, internal and external communications and large scale events and outreach. Jane consistently led the team to deliver these projects on time and to an exceptional standard. Jane is an approachable manager, who genuinely cares for the wellbeing of her staff and recognises when staff go above and beyond. She strongly supports personal development and career progression amongst her staff and has personally supported me through an application for a promotion. I feel very lucky to have worked with Jane for the last four years, she has been an exceptional manager and most of all - a really great person.

We are bringing together organisations who share our aims: to increase public awareness around the risks of loud sound and find ways to prevent preventable hearing loss.Launched in November 2014 by the HEARing CRC, in association with its core Member, the National Acoustic Laboratories, HEARsmart is creating a greater awareness of the risks associated with cumulative exposure to loud sound. With a particular focus on musicians, live music venues and patrons, we are actively promoting healthy hearing habits to help change the way people behave around loud sound and think about noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus.https://hearsmart.org/ Show less

The HEARing Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) is focused on the twin challenges of more effective prevention and improved remediation of hearing loss.Hearing loss affects one in six Australians, with a total financial cost estimated to be around $23 billion per annum. Through research and its utilisation, the HEARing CRC aims to reduce the impact of hearing loss by: * maximising lifelong hearing retention * reducing loss of productivity due to hearing loss * increasing uptake and use of hearing technology; and * providing postgraduate and professional education and training.https://www.hearingcrc.org/ Show less

The Wellcome Trust Publishing Group has produced a number of multimedia products, principally CD-ROMs, in partnership with organisations working in international health. These collaborative CD-ROMs often help support a disease control initiative or address a specific training need, and are thus more focused than the Topics in International Health CD-ROM series. Where possible, these products are made freely available to those who need them.
