  As part of the business and China strategy, successfully acquired several companies; formed several joint ventures to drive the growth of DSM in China. Recognized for building a successful acquisition pipeline and spearheaded strategy, acquisition, joint venture, and integration projects. Prepared, shaped, and influenced the China strategy. Served as a member of the Global Corporate Strategy & Acquisitions group, providing leadership in global strategic initiatives. >> Developed lists of Asian acquisition targets and successfully executed and closed numerous transactions:February 2019. DSM acquired a 29% stake in Andre Pectin in 2013. After settling a shareholders’ dispute, DSM purchased an additional 46% stake in Andre Pectin for a consideration of about €150 million, which increased DSM’s total shareholding in the company to 75%.September 2017. Acquisition of a 65% stake in Rainbow Biotechnology Co, an Inner Mongolia (China) based producer of biogums.February 2017. Acquisition of Suzhou SunShine New Materials Technology Co., Ltd, a China-based manufacturer of a novel, high-performance solar photovoltaic (PV) backsheet.August 2013. Acquisition of a 29% stake in Andre Pectin, a China-based producer of texturing ingredients. Negotiated a joint venture agreement, including option rights.

  As part of the management team, provided overall leadership of the hydrocolloids business unit including the building of a high-performance team: the business unit experienced double-digit growth, exceeded many of its targets and became an independent business unit (one of the first headquarters in Asia). Developed and executed the business unit strategy. Managed the acquisitions of Rainbow Biotechnology and Andre Pectin, and the subsequent formation of joint ventures; spearheaded the integration of these businesses. Demonstrated ownership, management, and governance of joint ventures.

Divestment of DSM Energy, the Netherlands for €285m.>> Acquired a number of businesses to strengthen DSM's geographic or strategic position for several of DSM's businesses:July 2011. Acquisition of 51% of AGI Corporation, Taiwan, for €41m.January 2011. Joint venture with KuibyshevAzot, Russia.June 2010.
