I would like to preface this recommendation by saying that I have never met anyone more skilled yet refusing to settle and hungry for new knowledge than Jan. Me and Jan have known each other since early 2016 and I have been working with him professionally for about 6 months, on a web platform where the two of us take care of the front-end development. Jan has almost an uncanny ability to always see the big picture before taking any action that results in substantial consequences. He demonstrates his expertise across a very broad and colorful palette of different skills, whether specific or universally applicable – front-end development, back-end development, cloud computing, debugging, problem solving, as well as a myriad of others. Despite covering this much, he knows his specializations and works hard on mastering them. He is able to put everything together to always find a great solution for any use case. He never assumes he is the smartest person in the room, but what is even more interesting is his desire to become even better at what he does, and that will never cease to surprise me. I personally have grown so much as a developer just by listening to and implementing his advice, and I am certain his attitude towards advice from more experienced colleagues is not any different. I have seen Jan’s code from two years ago and am very delighted to see the tremendous progress he has made since. Thanks to his proactive mindset, team spirit, hard-to-rival work ethic and being very reflective on both himself and his work, he truly falls into the top 1% of developers, and rightfully so. I cannot recommend him enough to his future employers.
