      Scarabeo 5/ Scarabeo 8Italy and NorwayThe main focus on SSDR Scarabeo 8 job was to join Saipems team in Palermo, giving early input on usability for crane operators and adapt the cranes to Norwegian regulations and standards. The intention was to avoid another project being transported to Norway, and then needing expensive modifications. Although the project got delayed, the modifications needed on the Cranes where completed in an early phase in Norway (March, 2011).My main task in the project was to:- Suggest modifications to the cranes, lifting equipment and laydown areas to Saipem, through field engineering, to make them acceptable for operations by Norwegian Governments (PTIL). Was involved in the verification process, follow up and changes made as result of DNV inspection, and getting the final acceptance for use by PSA.- Part of MC / Punch team on the cranes.- Evaluate Saipems procedures and documentation for operation of cranes and lifting equipment, suggest adjustments.- Participate in building a "competence database" on installation of cranes onboard offshore installations.Responsible for Crane operations executed on board.- Maintenance and follow-up of operations.- Responsible for maintenance of cranes, following up deckhands.- Approve equipment to be used during operations, follow up of safe job analysis (SJA) and Work permits within my area of responsibility.- Participate in verification processes of cranes on board.
