Jan-Dirk and me studied together at Games Academy. Since I arrived there as a fresh student, he supported me and many, many others with a deep knowledge and understanding of game design, programming and the entire production cycle. He motivated me and many others to improve our code qualities, helped us when we were stuck and still found the time to manage his own tasks. Even after my studies at Games Academy I am still impressed, how he handled all this different tasks, and still managed to do some game jams in his spare time. I can recommend Jan-Dirk as a highly valuable asset for any company that is looking for a trained expert and a great individual!

Jan-Dirk is certainly one of the most passionate and highly skilled game developers I ever had the pleasure of working with. We worked together on FERAL, a title that is considered one of the most outstanding games ever to be created at the Games Academy Berlin. His years of experience in game design and programming enabled him to contribute significantly to the overall quality of the game. On a daily base, he was a major driver throughout pre-production, conception, and iteration of all game mechanics as well as the core loop by bringing a foresight, consideration, and attention to detail that is rarely matched. Jan-Dirk is a very composed personality yet never fails to effectively and efficiently communicate design or code matters to all departments while utilizing drawings, flow-charts, and spreadsheets to convey ideas as well as problems concisely. Working with him on a daily base can be described as absolute pleasure since he always keeps his calm, stays focused and has a vast understanding of lots of game genres including board games which he would even design in his spare-time. His approach to bug-finding and fixing is creative, systematic and enhanced by a natural drive to deliver polished and balanced high-quality products! We spend countless nights playtesting and iterating unit and building abilities, maps and even UI/UX matters of FERAL and his working mentality are beyond inexhaustible. He was always the first person one could turn to and continually willing to sacrifice his private time for making an outstanding game and I will always remain grateful to all of his support even on a personal level! I'm convinced he will have a great career in games while having a tremendous impact on a lot of individuals and projects. I wish him all the best and hope to work with him again :)
