  As an intern, I worked at GeoSea (DEME) on the Rentel project. Rentel is an offshore windfarm near the Belgium coast, made up of 42 windturbines with a generating capacity of 308MW.   As an ex-project student, I embraced a new challenge to become one of the recruiters for Humasol vzw. Recruiting is a crucial aspect of every organization, but even more so for Humasol as the organization is run completely on volunteers. The task of the recruiter of a relatively unknown organization consists of raising awareness and giving lectures about what we do and stand for. During the selection period, I examined motivational letters, CV's and interviewed the potential project students.

  As an addition to my study, I took part in a voluntary project with a team of 3 engineering students in Kenia. We designed and built a water tower together with the local community to provide the town of flowing water, which they will use for sanitary ends. Furthermore, the water tower also provided water for a newly built irrigation system. The emphasis of the project is sustainability, in a way that the project is powered with 100% renewables and the cost of maintenance is low.
