José is one of those people that I genuinely loved working with: inspiring, intensely thoughtful, funny, never short on opinions and a great partner to spar with over the strategy, and most of all, someone who brought the highest level of respect and professionalism to every single project and person he encountered. During our time at Ogilvy we took on a huge breadth of projects, from taking a QSR brand identity global and breathing new life back into an old scotch, to getting people to rethink taxes and understand a public health crisis. There were always unexpected ideas, but what I admired most about José was his ability to empower and inspire his team every single time, like a quietly talented quarterback masterminding the play but making everyone else shine. José was an absolute delight to work with, and I hope our paths cross again!

José Salmeron is an opinionated, strong-willed, passionate and fiercely intellectual creative director who's not afraid to fight for the best creative executions for his clients' needs. He's also funny. Like, very funny. Though he's modest enough that he probably won't admit it. José is the epitome of what great leaders aspire to become. He recognizes talent and empowers his creative teams to generate exceptional creative, even on the most challenging timelines, while endearing the utmost respect of those who work beside and beneath him. He's an adept executive with experience building, running, and growing a world class creative department in a contemporary digital agency. He's the creative equivalent of a medieval dragon slayer. I've seen him lead the design of B2C websites and strategize major branding campaigns for fortune 10 companies then turn around and hand-draw logos for non-profit initiatives with limited budgets. But all that pales in comparison to his taste. Should you find yourself so fortunate as to share a meal with José, rest assured, you'll find yourself eating well.
