Overseeing all aspects of development from negotiation for and acquisition of land to CHRC creation, public hearings, town hall meetings, financing, land development, and lot sales. in addition, professionalized finance office, implementing long term budget process, regularizing reserve funds, completing deferred maintenance projects, and establishing first capital improvement and street improvement plan for community. Secured 400K walking path grant to provide a safe path through community and keep families and children off the main highway in town.

Responsible for new project initiatives, economic development, and representing the Governor's Office. Charged with finding projects and initiatives that would put South Dakota "ahead of the curve." Intimately involved with creation and implementation of 2010 Initiative, South Dakota Certified, and the Homestake Underground Laboratory effort. Negotiated, drafted, and successfully lobbied the operating structure for the first Office of Commercialization in South Dakota to provide help for start up companies and encourage commercialization of products developed at the state university level. Functioned de facto as the Governor’s Science and Technology Policy Officer and International Relations Officer.

Campaign Coordinator

Began as the sole campaign staffer for Rounds for Governor and later as part of a small team. Went from 4% name ID on arrival in February to winning the primary in June, spending $150,000 to our competitors' roughly $4 million and $2 million. Coordinated successful general election office in the state's largest city, Sioux Falls. Continued on with governor and worked as a member of an approximately 12 person transition team to reorganize state government and prepare for the new governor's administration.
