  My work within the Economics and Strategy team at Energy UK focused on the following areas: Policy and regulation - Gaining an understanding of energy regulation and policy across power generation, transmission and retail supply. Some focus was also given to emerging trends such as energy efficiency, smart power, electric vehicles and the smart meter scheme. - Involvement in consultation responses by collating, analysing and articulating member views. - My main policy areas of understanding include: Renewable Obligation, Contracts for Difference, Capacity Market, Feed in Tariff, Renewable Heat Incentive and Industrial Strategy. Economics and statistics: - The provision of statistical and economic analytical support to policy teams at Energy UK. - Developing an understanding of project finance within the renewable industry. - Analysis of energy wholesale prices. My time at Energy UK enabled me to gain a wide understanding of the power sector, with additional knowledge on wider energy policy, issues and markets. I have developed a keen interest in the energy sector as a result.
