Jamie is one of the most organized and driven individuals I have ever had the opportunity to work with. We worked side-by-side when I was at Proseal, where his tireless effort to define and document the current work environment from a functional and associate perspective led to massive leaps in the Training and Development of staff at our site. His approach to developing profiles, training materials and implementing a system of record to ensure quality of training and the pathway for employee development was outstanding. Always a clear communicator, with a warm and willing to assist personality, Jamie’s demeanor helped to problem solve and overcome gaps in the sometimes difficult organically grown environment. I strongly recommend Jamie and would trust him with any number of Organizational and Training Development Roles. A very professional, well rounded, skill set multiplying asset to any group or team.

I had the pleasure of having Jamie McAvoy as a student while he was pursuing his master's in industrial and organizational psychology at Liberty University. Jamie distinguished himself as a student by always being well-prepared for class, engaging in discussions, and asking questions that demonstrated his understanding of the material. He quickly demonstrated his ability to apply what he had learned through his part time work where he was conducting job analyses on positions across the company. Further, Jamie was a very good collaborator and classmate to his fellow students. Jamie was a thoughtful and attentive listener in class. I highly recommend and endorse Jamie to perspective employers.

After conducting job analysis as an intern, I was hired full time to develop the training department. I conducted a needs analysis throughout the business ensuring that training supported the goals of the business, as well as the needs of teams, and individual team members. I utilized subject matter experts (SMEs) to document processes and procedures, supporting the creation of training materials and LMS repository. I developed training programs for new hires, tenured incumbents, newly promoted managers, and leadership for technical tasks and soft skills.Other Highlights:→ Migrated business to learning management system to digitize learning→ Increased trainee accessibility and manager reporting capability→ Decreased new hires time to productivity by 50%→ Developed and delivered training programs for inexperienced and newly promoted managers→ Identified and trained subject matter experts to utilize newly implemented standard training templates supporting the creation of instructor led training, job aids, hands-on assessments and eLearning training materials

As part of my graduate program I gained business experience by conducting job analysis on a variety of manufacturing and administrative roles within the business. I met with business leaders to outline the goals of the project and expected outcomes. I then developed a strategy and implemented the plan across the business. I interviewed 80+ employees for the project to gain an understanding of their role and assessed differences between what team members think they do, what they're told to do, and what they actually do in the role. I worked cross-functionally with shared service functions including, human resources, health and safety, relentless and continuous improvements, and communications. Other Highlights:→ Interviewed incumbent populations for each role within the business using structured interviews→ Collected and analyzed quantitative data on job task difficulty, frequency, and importance - defined the mean and standard deviation, and identified outliers→ Presented key findings and recommendations to leadership, including improvements to training and onboarding, reskilling opportunities, and role clarity
