I worked with the students as they wrote their rough screenplays. I read through their manuscripts each week and offered feedback. I worked with the students in their writing groups and helped them develop their storylines. I also helped the professor with any classroom duties/help that she needed. I helped customers with their shopping needs throughout the store, specifically on the front end during the check-out process. I made sure to get the customers through my line as cheerfully, quickly, and efficiently as possible. It was my goal to have the customers smiling and happy as they left the store. • Courtsey Clerk, Cashier, Bakery Clerk
      • Jun 2004 - Jan 2009

I started at the beginning, learning first-hand about customer service through the courtesy clerk position, doing anything from sacking groceries to bringing in carts and cleaning the bathrooms. From there I moved on to the cashier position, already having the sacking groceries ability I quickly learned how to use the cash register and have a closer interaction with the customer. I then moved back to the bakery and learned how to package their baked goods, display and rotate items, answer the phone, take cake and bread orders, and basic cleaning and closing duties. I worked this job off and on from 2006-2009 as I attended school and had other jobs. Show less

    • Chemistry 100 Tutor
      • Jan 2008 - Apr 2008

Although I was an English major, I was asked to tutor the Chemistry 100 students. I was asked to stay on top of the class's curriculum, so that when the students would sign up for help I could assist them to the best of my ability. I would come up with quick and fun ways to remember facts, details, elements, etc. Each tutoring session would focus on what the student was having trouble on or wanted to focus their attention on. Most sessions were one-on-one, though I had a few group sessions as well - where I used the same ideas, but allowed the students to work/answer each other before I stepped in. Show less
