  Working as a senior developer in a small team, coaching and guiding junior members through a combination of retrospectives, coding Katas and pair programming while progressing the product and platform.Working with the Development Manager to lift key parts of the system from it’s legacy monolithic code base to a microservices architecture. This new architecture utilizes .netCore REST APIs hosted on Kubernetes clusters in Azure supported by Azure SQL instances and fronted with Angular 7 UI’s where applicable.This allowed us to increase platform stability by eliminating single points of failure and ensure GDPR compliance with users data being encrypted at rest with Azure SQL databases. It also enabled us to decouple the backend from the front end, increasing reusability of business logic and maintainability while decreasing code duplication.This large amount of work was achieved in a small timescale with the help of an integrated pipeline in Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, and utilizing TDD to help minimize regressions.
