Work Leader/Supervisor
-
Mar 2005 - Jan 2012
Having progressed through the ranks within GE I was promoted internally. This new role of Work Leader saw me in charge of up to 20 Turbine Technicians in a busy workshop. My specific department was tasked with the acid strip of Thermal Barrier Coatings. These coatings cover turbine components to protect against the harsh atmosphere inside the turbine. Stripping these coatings back using a mixture of acids would enable the technicians to perform the required weld repair and final contour blend.
