I worked in both underground and open cut operations as a mechanical engineer on site. I have managed large projects in procuring large equipment and transporting them to site, I have run the diesel maintenance team at an underground mine, assisted the statutory Mechanical Engineer on safety audits, worked on crew, managed various engineering projects, and also had the role of a mobile fleet maintenance planner at a large open cut mine. I worked with SAP and reviewed maintenance strategies for equipment, inspected equipment coming on site, facilitated and documented change management, performed engineering calculations as required and reviewed tenders and reports.

Located in the ATC Building of the University of Newcastle, Australia, the Priority Research Centre for Energy brings together academics at the University of Newcastle who have research interests in the abatement of greenhouse gases, and in clean and sustainable energy production. The Centre aims to provide new opportunities flowing from the interaction between industry, government agencies and university researchers interested in the growing field of clean and sustainable energy production. Among us are fellows of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (Professors Dlugogorski, Page and Wall), and recipients of prestigious national and international awards. We all publish extensively and regularly in relevant, mainstream and top-ranked journals, and have a record of innovation. We draw on both industry and targeted government support for our research endeavours.
