Nestor UK Ltd is a non-sterile pharmaceutical company and during my time here I was fortunate to amass a broad range of experience and skills whilst running Nestor UK Ltd’s microbiology department as the sole microbiologist. My Responsibilities included: Microbiological method validation, Conducting the Performance Qualification for the purified water plant (Chemical and microbiological) TAMC and TYMC testing on non-sterile products such as tablets and semisolids Identification of selective pathogenic microorganisms (Gram staining, indole test, triple sugar agar slant test, oxidase test) Environmental monitoring of production area and microbiology laboratory (Bacterial and fungal) including multiple cleanroom environments (class 10000) Growth promotion testing of media Microbiological analysis and chemical testing of purified water Antibiotic sensitivity testing Quarterly and Annual trending reports for purified water, environmental monitoring and drain-water trending

Quality assurance role testing milk samples at varying stages of production from raw samples to the finished product using a range of techniques including fat percentage analysis and water content analysis. Conducting chemistry tests on water samples and microbiological testing on products such as TVC's, yeast and moulds, and presumptive coliforms. The role also includes detecting antibiotics in raw milk and analysing shelf life via various tests.
