• I taught GCSE English (Edexcel syllabus), English Functional Skills (Entry Level 1 – Level 2) and IT Functional Skills (Entry Level 3 – Level 2). • I taught Young Learners (16 – 19 years), Adults and Apprentices. • I have significant success in improving the grade of second time round GCSE English students on a one year programme, for the Adult stream 75% got C and above for example. • I have experience of teaching in a variety of settings including groups and providing one to one teaching. • I have wide experience of working with students with specific learner needs (including autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, physical impairments including visual and auditory as well as relating to mobility). • Functional Skills English course co-ordinator, leading a team of teachers in the delivery of Functional Skills English. • Lead Internal Verifier for Functional Skills Speaking and Listening, leading and ensuring that all English teaching staff were teaching English as per the Edexcel syllabus. I received excellent feedback and commendation on selected approaches from Edexcel. • Regular contributor and deliverer of staff training sessions on a variety of topics, ranging from new college procedures – insight to managing specific needs. • Member of College Professional Practice Team, successfully mentoring new staff and coaching existing staff to improve performance rating from “requires improvement” to “good”. • Edexcel Assessment Associate – Examiner for Functional Skills Writing (Level 1, Unit 3). • Staff Governor on the College Corporation for three years, as part of my ongoing commitment to College best practice.
