Must monitor and analyze effluent concentrations to meet discharge permit standards.•Perform bi-annual groundwater sampling and tri-annual water levels for hydrologic system monitoring of the site. •Designed and built a pilot test system to treat tailings runoff water. The system was designed to achieve low zinc levels using a combination treatment approach of manganese greensand filtration, and ion exchange absorption.Spokane, WA •Participated in a 5 month on-site pilot test for a uranium mine in Spokane, WA. Using an ion exchange technology combined with chemical precipitation for the removal of dissolved uranium. •Ensured maximum levels of uranium removal by tracking and testing various methods in the treatment process. •Assisted in bid packages progressing 30% to 100%. Gained immense experience in specification writing as well as designing the control systems for the plant.Grass Valley, California•Researched and designed a water treatment process for the removal of iron and manganese.•Completed a month long on-site pilot test for an addition to a passive treatment system for the removal of iron and manganese.
