  Lead a team of engineers responsible for braking performance development and sign off of the I-Pace and future Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) programmes; covering thermal performance, parking, stopping distance and pedal feel attributes. As JLRs first deployment of a decoupled actuation system with a high level of regenerative braking, I Pace has been highly challenging. The role has encompassed:• Creation and implementation of UK and worldwide test plans, with consideration for extra complexities of BEV programme (charging, prototype complexity etc.).• Physical vehicle test completion, including high speed and limit handling test work. Highly experienced testing performance vehicles, with JLRs highest level of proving ground training (4PG).• Management of a team of test engineers and workshop technicians to operate multiple prototype vehicles at a time, ensuring punctual DVP (Design Verification Plan) completion in line with JLR PCDS (Product Creation and Development System) programme. • Definition of new attribute targets and development of new brake sizing and calibration procedures to allow first time deployment of regenerative braking on electric vehicles.• Attribute status (PALS) updating and reporting out at Vehicle Integrity drives and senior reviews.• Calibration of decoupled brake system. Tuning of regenerative braking, pedal feel and thermal protection functions. • Benchmarking of core competitors, concentrating on regenerative braking capability, pedal feel and stopping distance.• Responding to and managing complex attribute issues quickly, clearly communicating with the Vehicle Engineering managers, and other impacted parties to provide a suitable resolution. Six Sigma trained.• Diagnosis and remedy of complex prototype issues, allowing vehicle work to continue.   Completing the JLR graduate scheme has provided invaluable insight into function of an automotive business as a whole. Particular emphasis was placed on attribute development and sign off of across as many areas of the business as possible. The broad range of experience, and network of contacts gained has proven invaluable.SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) Vehicle Engineering – Supported Range Rover Autobiography Black development. Responsible for Range Rover Sport Stealth and Defender Halo projects. Liaised with suppliers, purchasing, quality and core engineering to determine programme feasibility. Acted independently and gained experience following PCDS process and applying to more specialist shorter timescale SVO projects.Vehicle Integrity – Completed whole vehicle assessments to ensure vehicles meet subjective attribute targets by appropriate gateways. Reviewed Statements of Intent, attended ADV (Attribute Demonstrator Vehicle) meetings and liaised with Vehicle Engineering teams to organise assessments.Powertrain Launch - Supported rapid issue resolution on Jaguar XJ charge pipe failure. Charge pipe was blowing off throttle body on early production vehicles. Utilised Six Sigma 8D methods and vehicle test experience to re-create unusual failure mode and identify a part quality issue.
