Dean Taylor
I worked with Jamie in at BT Fresca and Aptos Retail. I can strongly recommend working with Jamie, without reservation. Jamie is a joy to work with on many levels. Fundamentally he is a very skilled developer who keeps on the forefront of new technologies and actively relishes developmental challenges. Any designer would be stoked to have Jamie working on a site with them; you know implicitly that he will not only be extraordinary thorough and work to a high standard, but that he will also question design decisions and suggest new approaches if he thinks things can be done a better way (at which point he is usually entirely correct). Not only this, but Jamie is also a very personable, perceptive and humble guy. He somehow manages to combine industriousness and serenity. His calmness when presented with a tough deadline or demanding requirements really helps to set a precedent for the whole team meaning project managers and designers alike will compete to have him on their project. I recommend Jamie wholeheartedly and hope to work with him again.

Jamie's a huge asset to any team, always willing to roll his sleeves up and get involved in solving problems or issues and never turning down a challenge. His broad knowledge His patience is admirable and his ability to guide and develop other team members and supportive manner really is refreshing. Happily work with Jamie again.

I re-joined Datitude on another years contract to help them progress the application previously started by myself. This progressive push included innovations such as moving the entire stack over to ES2015/2017 standards and separating the front end solution into a React.js application, along with making the backend a pure API server. Changes to the Node.js backend API’s were done to achieve this architecture, the view tier was removed and we now have a de-coupled solution. As part of this we implemented JWT as an authentication strategy and took the time to implement Redux using Sagas in the front-end solution to help manage the React application state and asynchronous requests. We now have 2 repo’s and a stateless API server that is ready to scale.

Principal Web Developer
-
Jan 2014 - Dec 2014
In my role as principal web developer at BT Fresca, I oversee the Web Development department as a whole, previously this position would have been labelled more Head of Web Development, however the new title comes also, with a new approach to this role. I oversee project delivery, pitch meetings and anything to do with process in the department, but also act as a technical lead. This gives me the opportunity to lead a department of people forwards in more than one way and also influence the technical/innovative side of our business and our offering.

Senior Web Development Team Leader
-
Feb 2013 - Jan 2014
I still manage a team of developers and my day to day job contains all of the elements from before. I lead a team, I lead projects and strive to help the department deliver as a whole. I'm now involved with further department features such as resourcing for the department, management meetings and deputising to the Head of Web Development.

Web Development Team Leader/Senior Developer
-
Oct 2010 - Jan 2014
I manage a team of 6 web developers and build large scale e-commerce applications. The websites that are built nowadays are huge retailers in the e-commerce world. This position allows me to stray away from my comfort zone of ASP.NET and utilise JSP/JSTL along with a lot of front end web development. I started as an Intermediate developer and have moved to a Senior Web Developer/Team Leader.

Intermediate Web Developer
-
Oct 2009 - Oct 2010
I joined BT Fresca as an Intermediate Web Developer in 2009 in the Web Development department. I was soon a lead developer on projects and saw my first year go extremely well, whilst learning a lot at the same time and consistently striving for the best in myself. It was the first time I'd touched upon a Java platform/environment in a professional career so I certainly had a lot to learn!

I started at Ryland Technology as a junior developer and soon found my feet. My role here included building large scale business applications utilising ASP.NET (written in C#) and front end web development. This included everything from small CMS websites to large intranet systems, including large implementations of MOSS (Sharepoint). I also utilised SQL Server and IIS in my day to day job. Project and account management was also included within this role, and being a key team member. I started at Ryland Technology as a junior developer and soon found my feet.
