Jamie has a calming presence about himself that immediately passes to those he works with. I had the pleasure of working with Jamie at multiple Student Union events. His ability to co-ordinate activity in high pressure situations with a smile and a kind word is extremely rare to find these days. Whilst other colleagues clearly looked flustered and stressed at these busy events, Jamie would always be friendly and positive - which demonstrates his ability to be professional and client focused. He was incredibly well suited to the role of President for Wellbeing within the Union since his attitude to every interaction with students that I had witnessed showed compassion, genuine empathy and a full willingness and desire to support where he could - whilst often going the extra mile. I know that Jamie will go onto great things, not just because of his talents and experience, but most importantly because of the way he makes others feel supported. As I mentioned early, his way of being sadly is far to rare and very much needed in the roles of leadership and mentoring.
