Joined as an experienced hire with the objective of closing a high volume of Par and Distressed loan transactions following a period of significant growth. Pursuant to a team restructure at the beginning of 2012, I was given sole responsibility for the Distressed portfolio and provided cover for Trade Claims transactions. My duties covered the full settlement period, from preparation and negotiation of Trade Confirmations at Trade Date, to the processing of all relevant transfer documentation, the transfer of stapled private equity products, reconciliation of restructuring events, and the preparation/completion of pricing that accompanies all. Joined as an experienced loan trade closer in the Bank Loans Middle Office, responsible for settling LMA & LSTA Distressed transactions along with the analysing & processing of loan restructurings. As a senior member of the team, I was also involved in strategic software development, provided training for junior members, and assisted with all general transaction issues. Joined as a loan closing specialist, with initial responsibilities being to help shape the loan trading software platform (LoanTrak) and also to build the required procedures with Compliance, Risk, Operations etc departments. Once the loan trading business was successfully trialled and volume grew in earnest, my main responsibility reverted to closing. As the business went from strength to strength, I helped train and establish a closing team located - for compliance purposes - off the trading floor. Once that closing team was established and my closing responsibilities were migrated, I was ready for my next challenge - at Goldman Sachs. Show less

Started as a contractor working as cover in a Loans Agency department, but was made permanent and transferred to a secondary loan trade closing role within a year. In doing so, I took responsiblity for over 100 LMA/LSTA Par/Distressed transactions. One steep learning curve and a merger with Travelers Group later, I was ready to join some former colleagues who had made a team move to Dresdner.
