  Azbil Telstar UK design and manufacture containment isolators for the pharmaceutical industry. The containment isolators are designed to either protect the operator as a physical barrier if the product is toxic, or protect the product from air born bacteria by controlling airflow and pressure. During my short time in the company I have been involved in the design of a major ongoing project for a vile filling line. Starting with the initial conceptual design which involved creating a general arrangement drawing, highlighting the isolator positions within the room and glove positions. Show less

  Stelram design and manufacture handling equipment predominantly for the food and automotive industries. During my short time with the company I designed a number of different tooling for the car industry, as well as conveyors and pick and place enclosures for the food industry. The standards for the handling equipment for food industry differ drastically to the standards I was used to at Rhodes. This has allowed me to gain experience designing for other sectors and to different standards I wasn’t used to. I had to manage my time well as I was usually working on multiple projects.   Joseph Rhodes Limited is a globally recognized manufacturer of bespoke machinery, supplying to many different industry sectors (aerospace, food, pharmaceutical industries, etc.). The company specialise in mechanical and hydraulic presses. I started at the company in July 2005 as an apprentice design engineer and qualified with a double distinction in both ONC and HNC mechanical Engineering. I have also attended a number of courses on hydraulics and AutoCAD Mechanical/Inventor Software courses. Initially my role at the company was to assist the senior members of the design office with the detailing of components, using tolerances and surfaces finishes when needed, and create arrangement drawings. On completion of my apprenticeship in 2009, I took a more active role and started to lead my own projects. I completed a number of projects, from concept to installation on site. I had to manage my own time to ensure projects were delivered on time. Show less
