My current research interests are cancer non-invasive diagnostics and novel cancer immunotherapeutics. As team leader, I identify emergent themes in research that have clinical and commercial value, write grant proposals to support the work and give presentations to attract collaborations. I engage clinical and industrial partners to gather resources for our work, such as funding, clinical samples and services. I also give advice to colleagues in human biomedical research matters by serving as the human biomedical control officer and A*STAR IRB ethics committee member. Show less

I joined Dr Tan Min-Han's team to develop the microsieve device to capture circulating tumor cells for non-invasive cancer diagnostics. I developed an ultrasensitive assay for detecting EGFR mutations in the blood of lung cancer patients, which were licensed and commercialised by A*STAR startup Lucence. A highlight was a prospective clinical trial conducted with Changi General Hospital to demonstrate the benefits of liquid biopsy.
