Jim is an amazing CAD designer. He is well organized, fast, and the most accurate deisgner I have worked with in 25+ years. He always meets deadlines, no matter how crazy the time limits. He plans ahead to optimize designs and avoid wasted rework time. He is also a pleasure to work with, personally.

Jim was a valuable resource as our on-site Mentor Graphics resource. He was always available to answer questions, and was happy to help us customize the systems to our needs. Jim and I worked together extensively to streamline the board design process at Motorola. He had an idea, and approached me about it. Having worked with Jim in the past I trusted his opinion and decided to pilot the process on my next project. Using the tools already built-in to Mentor Graphics we managed to reduce the design cycle by about 50%, with the emphasis on savings in early floor planning and routing. There were few bumps, but Jim was right there to help us work through them. Once the other teams in our area saw how well it was going, they also got on board. We ultimately presented the case study at the 2004 Mentor Graphics User to User conference. Jim's approach is measured, calm, and positive. He thinks through issues well and does not force his own opinion. I'm happy to have worked with Jim and hope to do so again at some point.

Perform board layout of broadband circuit designs and support Engineers and Designers with use of Mentor Graphics schematic capture and PCB layout tools. Highlights include on-time completion of multiple high density, wireless telephony modems and video gateway products. Perform DDR timing analysis on selected projects and perform power plane, voltage drop analysis on most designs. Review layouts for potential ESD, EMI and UL issues. Performed layout of two controller designs with Expedition and CES that included a DDR memory section. Placed, routed and tuned the design to meet the strict DDR constraints. Re-used the fully routed DDR section in the first design for the second design, saving at least two weeks from the overall schedule.
