He is an encouraging supervisor who makes the effort to write notes to his supervisees. He is very hardworking and is always willing to go the extra mile to complete the tasks on hand. As a supervisor, he is patient and forgiving. He is a person of integrity too. As a teacher to his pupils, he is very loving and nurturing and is a fatherly figure. He has a big heart for them! He makes the effort to become the expert in his area of influence by being a voracious reader.

I have been publishing my stock research on Seeking Alpha since December 2021. My research has been well received and several of my articles have been selected as "Editor's Pick". I am a conservative yet opportunistic value investor who have been investing since 2005. I am fact-driven, preferring to let financial data inform me of a company's health, followed by qualitative analysis to fill in the gaps to paint a holistic picture of a company's prospects. 2015-2017: I designed and implemented the Project-based Learning (PjBL) Science Curriculum, an inquiry-based teaching and learning approach for Punggol Green Primary school. Adapting the Gold Standard PBL from BIE, I came up with a PjBL cycle that students experienced in every PjBL unit. Besides seeing the learning of Science through multi-modality, argumentation and social constructivism, a strong emphasis is placed on making students' voice key to the yearly review and refinement of this Science curriculum. I believe that sustaining students' interest in learning Science is necessary, and to do that the curriculum they experience must reflect their preferences. In addition, I blended Environmental Education into the PjBL Science curriculum, and later into English, CCE and Social Studies.2012-2013: Process Skills Intervention ProgrammeI initiated a programme to develop the basic scientific skills in the bottom 10% of the primary 3 cohort. This programme involved identification of students through a performance task and individual intervention over a period of 8 sessions over 5 months. During the programme, students played games that reinforced their classification, observation and comparison skills. 2009-2013: Science Curriculum DesignUsing the Learning by Design Framework by Janet Kolodner and seeing curriculum through the lenses of multi-modality, I designed a problem-based, project-based and investigative learning Science curriculum in North View Primary School. Learning Science through weekly investigations or designing and prototyping of artefacts became crucial for students to experience fun and well scaffolded lessons. Through peer-peer & peer-teacher dialogues, investigations, presentation, students found greater meaning in their learning.2009-2013: Eco-trailI designed an Eco-trail within the school that spanned across 6 levels and integrated multiple subject areas. Through this trail, Science was introduced at P1 and P2. Show less

In my current role, I focus on mentoring teachers. This includes guiding teachers in having an overview of curriculum considerations, doing lesson demonstrations, weekly sharing of ideas on lesson enactment, conducting professional development workshops, and reviewing teachers' lesson plans. As I am still covering the role of Head of Department, my responsibilities in assessment and curriculum matters remains. In my current role, I focus on mentoring teachers. I applied to join a new school to have the opportunity to design and enact a Science curriculum that adheres closely to my beliefs about how children learn. I wanted students to enjoy learning Science and to give them a voice in deciding how the curriculum turns out since they are going to be the ones to experience it. As the design and implementation of this Science curriculum was nearing its completion, I changed my portfolio to a more mentoring position as a Senior Teacher so I can focus on sharing my experience and knowledge about Science education to Science teachers.
