I had the pleasure, or maybe it was sheer good luck, to employ James on his university placement year and I honestly can say nothing but good things. In his time at Bosch Security James continually impressed everyone who he worked with, both in the UK and overseas, with his work ethic, dedication and willingness to take on more and go the extra mile. In his time here James worked in many marketing related areas; website design and maintenance, e-communication and social media, CRM and direct marketing but James really came into his element in organising trade-shows and exhibitions. Here James developed and implemented some robust processes that not only ensured each event was well organised but improved the pre-show marketing and also the post show activities. - Initially starting this role as a fixed 1-month contract to help PVS to generate new leads, I quickly had a positive impact on sales with the introduction of two new customers. Due to my success in the role PVS decided to employ me on a part time basis while studying in my final year. - Responsible for all the marketing & sales that go through the organisation. Day to day this involves identifying new opportunities, maintaining Google AdWords & Analytics, liaising with potential and existing customers, creation and management of website, and targeted industry sales campaigns. - Introduced a CRM system to the organisation, allowing me to efficiently track customer interaction whilst being able to get back in contact with previous customers and build successful relationships. - Through outbound calls, quotations and providing new product information I have acted as a focal point for new customers to contact often leading to repeat business.

      - Introduced Bosch Connect an internal social media platform to flatten communication between the sales team and provide a contact point for all sales staff. - Involved in all of Bosch Security Systems marketing strategy throughout the UK, including bespoke advertisements, social media activities, website maintenance and hosting and organising our own events. - I was promoted to exhibition manager in the UK. Representing, organising and being the go to contact for all trade shows and exhibitions in the UK for Bosch Security Systems. - Representing Bosch at the UK shows meant I had first-hand experience with key decision makers. Communicating the Bosch brand and technology in a way that allowed our sales team an opportunity with that company. - Acted on behalf of the sales team, by identifying opportunities within the industry and setting up appointments for the salesman in that area. - Constantly updating and adding to Bosch’s CRM system to provide the sales team accurate and reliable information when contacting customers. - Built key relationships with suppliers as well as customers, by being friendly, consistent and reliable. - The role taught me and made me develop my organisation skills, after taking on more sales and marketing responsibilities, I was often out of the office for days at a time. Meaning I had to find the right balance in order to make sure my work was always at a good standard.

      - Successfully gathered quantitative and qualitative data for clients such as HSBC, Lloyds and Scottish widows about the service they provide for their customers. Using in house software whilst supporting colleagues when they have issues. As the information I was gathering was about their bank, I had to be extremely resilient when on the phone in order to gain the feedback and hit my targets. - I have gained excellent communication skills as I had to obtain accurate feedback whilst staying impartial and professional. I’ve also had to ensure when taking customer feedback that my comments are consistently accurate while maintaining consistently high targets.

      - My part time job at moss bros was my first real experience in a fast-paced selling environment. My responsibilities included; Calculating daily revenue, stock management and managing the hire department in absence of a manager. My main responsibilities were to work on the shop floor as a sales advisor, fitting customers for suits recommending items based on their requests. - This role enabled me to gain exceptional communication skills as I could liaise with customers on a day to day basis. Having to identifying what exactly the customer required, effectively providing a personal service. It helped me to work in a target driven environment where I consistently beat targets, averaging one thousand five hundred pounds’ worth of sales a week, on an eight-hour contract.
