James approached his role as a survey party chief at McElhanney with a level of technical knowledge and efficiency that I have striven to emulate since working with him. When I began employment with McElhanney Land Surveys, I worked as James' survey assistant for several months. During that period James taught me skills such as survey equipment use, reading legal and engineering survey plans, how to properly document survey work, considerations when attempting to find/establish/re-establish legal and non-legal survey evidence, in addition to the intuitions and knowledge necessary to successfully conducts surveys on behalf of the Oil and Gas industry. Since working with James I have applied many of the skills, interpersonal strategies and leadership techniques I learned to my own work as a Survey Party Chief.
