Baltimore Ravens Writer
-
Jan 2015 - Jan 2017
I generated Baltimore Ravens content for Pro Football Spot's website. This involved writing articles about the team and also editing articles written by other Ravens' writers. In addition to writing the articles, I promoted them via social media and worked to engage other Ravens' fans in discussion about the topics raised in the articles. I brainstormed promotional strategies for OneHope's Bible App for Kids, which commenced its China launch in February 2015. This involved me researching Chinese culture and then implementing my findings in a way that would get the word out to Chinese people about the app, while not breaking Chinese rules. I also volunteered as an English teacher, teaching three-year-old's five days a week and middle schoolers two days a week. Writing Intern
-
Jun 2013 - Aug 2013
Every week, I wrote between one and three articles for This Week on Martha's Vineyard which is a free weekly newspaper that operates during the island's busy summer season. I was responsible for securing interviews for each article as well as edit my own articles and take pictures if my articles needed them. I also covered a beat for the site's blog and for this beat I chose to focus on the island's local music and also on upcoming shows at the island's top venues. Apr 2012 - Jun 2013
After undergoing an intensive sports writing internship from January-April 2012, I was offered a position as a featured columnist for the Baltimore Ravens with Bleacher Report. This job meant that I was responsible for producing at least one piece of content on the website every week. During my time with Bleacher Report, I wrote about the NFL, NCAA Football, NCAA Basketball, the NBA, and the 2012 London Summer Olympics. The main lessons I learned were how to write under deadlines and also how to utilize SEO placement in order to gain optimal placement for my stories. Show less
