As a duty manager, it is my job to ensure the smooth running of a busy Tesco Express store in Nottingham. To make sure the store is running as best it can, I need to effectively lead a team of customer assistants to deliver the ‘Big 6’, complete routines, maintain store standards and provide great customer service myself. This is a customer facing role where I am expected to deliver solutions to problems as quick as they arise. When the store manager is on holiday I am entrusted to run the store in his absence. This has given me great experience in managing a larger group of people, ensuring wages are correct and leading the team to exceed agreed upon targets. Show less

During my placement at Questor Insurance I researched and wrote a paper on the requirements to trade in Canada. To do this I looked into the trade barriers in each district within Canada. It was a great experience as it gave me a chance to improve working independently and I learned a lot from everyone at the company. To be successful in this role, I had to effectively analyse both quantitative and qualitative data and summarise concisely.
