'I worked with James when he was a staff officer and operations manager in the Air Manoeuvre Battle group (5 SCOTS). James was employed as the manager, liaising between UK military forces and civilian organisations, including governmental authorities of host nations, NGOs and UK OGDs. James was also responsible for the development of operational human terrain mapping. As such, he was required to have a comprehensive understanding of complex cultural, ethnic, political, tribal affiliations and dynamics. The key functions of his role were to collate, analyse, interpret complex political and social landscapes. He was then routinely required to present this information coherently to audiences of senior managers. As a secondary skill, he was required to develop contingency response plans for the consequence management of military operations and be capable of managing short term infrastructure and social projects in line with these contingency plans. James is extremely intelligent and articulate, his analytical skills are excellent and he is an accomplished verbal and written presenter. He is pragmatic in his managerial style and he has a proven track record of delivering operational effect. I would not hesitate to recommend James to any potential employer and I firmly believe that he would be a genuine asset to any company or organisation that would wish to employ him.'

During our tenure together James displayed a natural talent for his role, he worked extremely well independantly and in concert with others. dilligent in his tasks, with a sound understanding of what was required by both superiors and subordinates at all times. James could be relied upon to provide more than was required. A sound analyst and excellent operator, James has always set the bar high for himself and others. Talented and optomistic, James understood how to provide the required motivation to get his subordinates moving and achieving. I would have no compunction in recommending James to any future employer and would relish the opportunity to work with him again.

As an independent consultant, reporting to the Director of Security (a serving Peruvian Military Officer), I devised, implemented and tested a full-spectrum security solution, including the design of physical security infrastructure, security policies, procedures and techniques, and staff training for 12,000 security personnel (serving Peruvian Police and Security Forces), resulting in a safe and secure environment within which the games took-place without any serious security incidents.
