This role involved working with Barclays’ customers on a day to day basis, providing excellent customer service, and having the knowledge to assist with any queries they may have. I was required to have great time keeping, to ensure daily jobs are completed within a specific timescale, no matter how busy I was throughout the day. I was required to be proactive in my approach to dealing with customers and have the ability to spot opportunities wherever possible. I had been given some extra responsibilities within the branch which include training new starters, completing the till agreement book for the branch, and had been given the role of ‘Digital Eagle’. Within this, I was responsible for promoting and educating staff and customers about our digital platforms and solutions and am required to provide these solutions where appropriate. Part of my role included me spending time working in the banking hall providing solutions for customers day to day. This is where I build most relationships with clients and maximise any opportunity to grow these. I am often faced with difficult situations, such as customer complaints, and learnt how to deal with these in a professional and empathetic manner. I was required to be on hand to deal with any questions clients may ask, and must keep my knowledge of branch products and services up to date at all times. I also often worked alone covering the counting house where I was on hand to answer customer queries on the telephone and still manage the operational side of the branch. I was responsible for considering all aspects of the branch and budgeting what cash is required for the week and placing the order. These tasks required me to make important decisions and take ownership of the branch’s cash flow whilst ensuring all of my other daily tasks are completed successfully. My role as a carpenter involved completing a day release course at college and studying for an NVQ in carpentry and joinery. During my time at Atlantic Contracts, I was able to get involved with many different projects, including working on the Shard in London. This type of work required me to have an eye for detail, and complete jobs to an extremely high standard. I learnt how to be organised, and manage my day effectively, to ensure all jobs were completed within any required time scale. Completing these whilst working, required me to be flexible and to dedicate my own time to ensure these were finished accordingly. Whilst working at Xerox, I was involved in testing digital equipment such as photocopiers, for any malfunction, following an agreed test plan. I was required to accurately identify any system shortfalls and document these correctly, which took a huge amount of patience and eye for detail, to ensure nothing was missed. I worked using systems such as Microsoft Excel, where I gained a good understanding of these systems, and the ability to use them on a day to day basis. I worked using systems such as Microsoft Excel, where I gained a good understanding of these systems, and the ability to use them on a day to day basis. During my time there, I also worked on a test called the ’Process control demo test’. The objective of this test was to confirm that Xerographic voltage control and (Automatic toner control) produced optimum print quality through the life of one ’XRU’ (Xerographic Unit) and to test this in a range of different environments. These tasks all gave me the ability to work in an office and team environment and stay focused whilst ensuring all tasks were completed.
