Maintained and assisted in training a collection of free flown birds and small mammals using modern operant conditioning training techniques. The collection included: various raptors, cranes, hornbills, and corvids. Birds were presented during a grant funded traveling-educational live bird show at no charge to middle schools across Oklahoma. Duties included: overseeing volunteers as needed, assisting in the set up and running of presentations utilizing multimedia equipment, enclosure design, facility maintenance, and administration of prescribed medications and treatments. In addition, assisted with Sutton Center field research, including performing tree climbing for the fledgling Bald Eagle satellite tracking project, and banding of Greater Prairie Chickens with researchers and graduate students. As needed, attended a breeding project producing gyrfalcons, peregrine falcons, and hybrid falcons via artificial insemination to include: cleaning, feeding of adults and chicks, observing breeding behavior, monitoring of incubators with eggs, and neonate care. In addition, I assisted with Sutton Center field research. This included Dr. Sherrod’s fledgling Bald Eagle satellite tracking project, performing the tree climbing, and banding of Greater Prairie Chickens with researchers and graduate students.
