Feb 2016 - Nov 2022
Proud to have been part of the team at Berwick, where I have worked to improve the tech footprint as the Product Manager and day-to-day manager of our amazing Tech Department. Everyday brought new challenges to solve, and opportunities to help drive the growth of the company. I worked with Postgresql for data management and reporting, and with our great developers on solutions architecture (mainly in AWS, but also with outside CDCI and Kubernetes). I was involved on all aspects of the development stack, but managing product from design to delivery (and maintenance) was my main responsibility. Really proud to have brought a CRM, Ticketing system, 2 client facing data delivery web-apps, and modern ETL to the company! A very important 7 years for me, and a time I will always look back fondly on.

Manager
-
Aug 2010 - Dec 2016
I stepped into the role of Business Manager at Desert Pacific with little knowledge of the industry and having never run a company before. It was quite challenging, but proved to be a unique opportunity to learn how a business is run. I managed all aspects of the business, including customer service, HR, order entry, AP/AR, production, workflow management, and vendor management. To combat the sales contraction caused by an industry wide decline, I planned out and implemented a variety of tactical and strategic shifts in operations. This included new sourcing channels to improve turn-around and profit margin, a streamlining of production to focus on our strengths and a renewed effort to improve relations with our best clients while branching out to new customers. These plans were largely successful and we managed to stay open and even grow our customer base while many other stores were closing. In 2015, we moved to an online only format where I worked part time as an operations and procurement manager to assist in setting up new vendor-to-client connections.

Database Quality Control Specialist

May 2015 - Feb 2016
At Crimson, I worked with a team to to ensure information quality for a medical database. Due to my accuracy with information, and knowledge of IT, I was personally tasked with 2 specialized data streams sent directly from the clients. Both tasks involve information validation to meet HIPAA standards, as well as formatting to (and creation of) database structures. I routinely conducted internet research, direct client contact, and consulted with our DB team to guarantee the quality and accuracy of our information.

I managed team of 10+ office clerks to meet hiring and data tracking goals for the 2010 Census. My biggest accomplishment was creating a workflow systems to accurately and efficiently handle large amounts of incoming data and records that included Access and Excel workbooks (both of which were used as models for other offices). At the same time, I learned how to manage people to meet goals while dealing with conflicting personalities. May 2005 - Aug 2007
Worked in an office setting with R&D engineers. Worked in a Japanese manufacturing/office setting with Q&A/R&D engineers at Koto Electric as an assistant and liaison between science/manufacturing and sales staff, both internally and with GE USA. Maintained and created spreadsheets and databases ranging from employee work logs to product development and prototype databases. Performed daily QA checks on lamps (metal halide) including x-ray, glass polarization and spectral analysis for doping levels. Assisted in metal lab with specimen prep (grinding and etching for metallic structure analysis). Learned to communicate technical issues in both technical and layman's terms (when dealing with sales) and in 2 different languages.
