We are a small independent tour company that offers battlefield tours with a difference which produces a greater experience. For instance, on our D Day tour we fire the actual guns which were used including Sten and Thompson sub machine guns. There is a tour leader to ensure that your trip runs smoothly and each guide at a battlefield site is personally selected for their knowledge and how they explain what happened and why. Lastly good hotels, good restaurants and most of all good company with fellow professionals is an important part of the overall experience and enjoyment. Find out more and book a tour of your life. Following the take-over by Barclays in 2003, the whole Guildford office decided to leave to join Charles Stanley in 2007 and funds under management increased to £230 million. Due to this success I was put in charge of creating a sales team from scratch and join the board. The team grew to 10 people and within three years we have attracted £410 million of new funds under management. My role was to not only manage the team but also to secured panel positions with SIPP providers and Wrap platforms, bring on board and marketing to consultants of National accounts and Networks. Further to liaise with our back office and compliance departments so that our in house systems can provide a smooth and efficient service to intermediaries. At a board level, learnt about how a company runs, looked at the various risks involved with a company of this size, how the increased regulation effected the profitability and how to coup with the increase regulation within your sales and marketing strategy. I joined Greig Middleton in Guildford in the early 1990's to form a division to provide Discretionary Fund Management Services to the IFA community. Within two years we had brought in £60 million of new funds under management and were the most successful team outside London. Promoted up to London to head up the sales team which was created by the merger between Greig Middleton and Gerrard Vivian Grey (GVG). I managed a team of 8 sales consultants, plus back up staff. Returning to Guildford in 2000 following the take-over by Old Mutual, I started up my own team and soon attracted over £150 million under management, through the various intermediaries and private clients within the Guildford area. Following the take-over by Barclays, the whole office decided to leave to join Charles Stanley. Show less
