  After Selling our previous business and opening our Mathnasium franchise I found that the rules in marketing and advertising had dramatically changed in the past 10 years. Digital advertising and marketing was the new "go to" medium. However, Mathnasium corp had a very weak program at the time and didn't have their hands around it yet. In consulting with other owners on the group forum, not a single person was satisfied with the results they were getting with the preferred vendor. Mathnasium didn't officially have a marketing dept at the time either so I only had the operating manual as a guideline... This Had to change and I wasn't going to wait for anyone to do it for me - I had to begin immediately. I started reading everything I could find about digital marketing and ppc. There was so much information that it was like learning a new language. I created an account for my center and in no time it was performing better than average! I kept A/B testing and adding new keywords and kept improving my stat's and generating leads. Another Franchisee heard about my results and ask me to help him learn how to manage his own account. It turned out to be an impossible task, so he ask me to manage his account for him. His results were better than mine! He asked if he could recommend me to a friend and before I knew it I was managing 25 adwords account! This had accidentally turned into a business!! During that time I was also adjusting the website content knowing that finding the right audience was only half of the battle... You also had to convince them that you are the solution before they are going to pick up the phone and call you. So I set out to build a comprehensive advertising program and using my own locations as the test bed. I risk my own money so others don't have to. I am constantly trying to improve for my own business. Now managing accounts for more than 600 centers- I am still working to get better and better results. Let a Mathnasium owner work for you! Sold to American Lube Centers 2011 Started in 2001 with a borrowed $2000 in my garage and built the business during the day while working the night shift at Decision One in bound call support center. Soon after I reduced my living expenses and quit my job to work in the business full time winning customer after customer the old fashion way... I went out every day and talked to as many people as I could and handed out 1000's of flyers. Freedom Oil Service quickly took off and I was getting major contracts with the State highwat dept and local power & gas companies. Dozens of small fleets and 100's of private owners. We developed Systems - Tools - & Processes to run the business in a time when technology was quickly advancing. This helped us grow our business and manage it efficiently. After 10 Years we were ready for a new challenge when we found Mathnasium. So we sold the business for seed money to buy and build a Mathnasium Franchise. Show less
