Duties included management of various projects, including the following: Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority - Bayport Facility Disinfection Improvements. Project value $4MM, CDM-Smith design engineer, evaluated proposal contract delivery. This project consisted of installation of a new chemical feed facility (sodium bisulfite and sodium hypochlorite), associated civil work and yard piping and the installation of approximately 1500 LF of driven sheet pile in the existing Pond 9 distribution for Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority Bayport Facility. This new construction moved the disinfection chamber from the middle of the plant to the discharge facility so that the existing chamber could be demolished during the construction of the new Clarifier No. 7 project. Time was very critical for this project given the downstream considerations of new work, and GCA is subject to multiple agency reviews so ensuring that the quality of water leaving the facility did not violate their permit allowances was critical. This project was finished ahead of schedule and under budget with zero incidents, both during construction and with respect to GCA's permits. Gulf Cost Waste Disposal Authority - Bayport Main Lift Station Upgrades. Project Value $8MM, Jacobs Engineering design engineer, evaluated proposal contract delivery. This project consisted of the removal and replacement of 6 existing vertical turbine pumps at the Bayport facility main influent lift station, the construction of approximately 900 LF of high pressure fiberglass piping, the removal and replacement of the existing RAS piping (steel fabricated pipe) system, various electrical modifications and all civil work required from the main lift station to the First Step Aeration tanks. This particular project was very challenging because service to the plant could never be interrupted. Multiple shutdowns and many hours of coordination with GCA Operations, other subcontractors and LEM would be required. Show less

In my 6 years at Garney I had the fortune of being involved in almost every aspect of a water or wastewater project, from procurement all the way through closeout. My experience ranged from managing subcontractors, developing pricing and scopes for change orders, submittal and RFI documentation, as well as project manager on an arsenic removal facility for a client in the Phoenix metro area. My brief stint at Western Summit provided me with a great foundation for basic project managment - from submittal review to reading and understanding project budgets and schedule milestones. I also spent time as a field engineer learning the skills of surveying and layout for structures, pipelines and other features on a project site.
